Our baby boy is a toddler!! We still can't believe how much he's grown and changed over the past year. He is now wearing 18 mo. clothes, weighs 22 lbs., and stands 30 in. tall. The last twelve months have flown, but we've cherished every sweet memory. Titon, we love you more and more each day!
Titon's motor skills are advancing quickly... he is really motorin' around well these days! :) He has fun walking around the furniture, and he especially likes to stand up, squat down, and quickly pop back up again to play peek-a-boo. He thinks it's fun to sneak up behind our back or pull up on our pant legs and "surprise" us. :)
He is also a CLIMBER!! Mom says "be careful!" repeatedly these days. :)
That means he's beginning to get a few more scrapes and bruised knees, but that doesn't slow him down a bit! He usually wants to go right back to what he was playing. (This scrape on his chin happened at the swimming pool. He and Daddy were proud. :)
Titon can say "Mom-ma", "Da-da", and "ball," and he understands the meaning of numerous other words and phrases. A few weeks ago, he started pointing with his index finger and saying "dat!" about anything that catches his eye. He's gotten quite good at pushing buttons on his toys, and when music plays he starts to "dance"!
Daddy says he is learning a lot about prepositions too... in, out, on, under, over... He is investigating how his toys fit under the furniture or inside containers with lids. He likes to drop them in small spaces and reach for them under the table or chairs. We'll probably be finding them in the sofa cushions soon. :)
Look who's discovered toilet paper!
He loves to stand at the door or look out through the window and jabber about everything he sees. We talk about the trees with green leaves, cars and trucks vrooming by, houses and sidewalks, the birds and squirrels playing...
Titon loves riding his tricycle! He can't quite reach the pedals, but he makes his motor sounds and squeals with delight when we drive in circles. We can hardly pull him off!
Now that Titon reached the one-year mark, there are several new foods he's been able to try. This was his first peanut butter and jelly sandwich. He likes to take the bread apart and lick the good stuff in the middle, but he gave me a look that said, "Mom, you can make more of that!" He has two new teeth coming in to make a total of six!
Ice cream was another new food to enjoy this month. He likes it... we know he's our son! :)
Titon loves hugging his stuffed animal friends and snuggling his blankets. He is a happy, growing boy and we love learning more of his personality and heart. His life is a precious gift!
