Danny and I are excited to tell you we've decided on a name for our son... Titon James Phillips!
Titon (spelled with an "o") is a Greek form of the name Titus in the Bible. Titus, a Christian and defender of the faith, was a strong leader in the New Testament church and a co-laborer with Paul. A descriptive epithet of Titus was that he was known as a "worshipper of God"... which we love as a vision to cast for our son. James is also a special name for us... James (from the book of James in the Bible) was a half-brother to Jesus, there are a number of boxing champs named James that Danny admires, but primarily we wanted to give a special honor to our pastor and friend, James (Jim) Presnell.
