Two Years Old

Our little man is TWO years old!! How did our baby boy get so big?! Titon is talking more and more all the time. He loves to say his name, and talks about himself in third person ("Titon do it!"). He also is eager to wave and say "hi" to kids or people we see around town. :) His favorite current expressions are "I done it!" "Ready, set, go!" "Oh, wow!" "Good shot!" "What happened?!" "Oh, BOY!" "Oh, goodness!" and "Oh, no, lost it!" He's learning to say "Thank you" and "You're welcome" consistently too (most of the time he says them both together!). He keeps us laughing with his fun personality and sense of humor.

He sure loves to climb, run, gallop, and jump. In fact, he rarely walks anywhere anymore... it's wonderfully fun to hear his little feet run so fast! He still loves to swing, but now he has just as much fun going down the slide and climbing ladders. And, he's fascinated with bugs! I never imagined I'd be helping my little boy dig for worms, and it's a lot of fun to hunt with him for grasshoppers, ants, and roly-polies. :)

He loves playing in the dirt, working with tools, and pointing out construction trucks, mixers, dozers, and cranes. He often asks to "ride" on every truck or lawnmower he sees!

Titon is a great eater! It seems like his appetite has increased again and he's grown so much this summer. It's encouraging to see him try to share a snack with his friends -- it seems like good practice for sharing eventually with little brother! :)

He's also taken more interest in learning to brush his teeth! It still is mostly about playing in the water, but we usually don't turn down an opportunity to practice. :)

One of Titon's biggest milestones this month has been learning to sleep in his "big boy bed!" What a process this has been! Naturally, this new freedom makes it easy for him to get out of bed multiple times, so we're still working on getting him to stay in his room once we've read our books and said our bedtime prayer. Several times, he's fallen asleep in the hallway or outside our bedroom door. :) He still wakes up once or twice during the night and comes to find us, but he usually resettles and goes back to sleep after we tuck him in again.

He's been extra affectionate lately, asking for a "hug" or to be held. I can't help but treasure these sweet moments with just him before our next baby arrives. :) He's growing so fast! We are so blessed by our precious son and can't wait to welcome this next gift into our family.
