Happy 13 Months, Titon! You keep amazing us with how fast you're learning. It's so fun to watch you grow into a little boy more and more each day. We're so proud of you and we love you!
We really have a lot of fun playing with Titon. He has a fun sense of humor and likes to make us laugh! This month he started clapping his hands and playing peek-a-boo by covering his own eyes. He can also point to his hands, eyes, ears, nose, teeth, hair, feet, and belly button. :) He continues to love reading books every day... especially turning the pages! He also is starting to point or take our finger to point at the pictures with us. He often points to objects and says "da" when he wants to touch or see something up close. He bounces or "dances" when he hears the radio or toys that play music. :)
Titon is always on the go, exploring and investigating, from one toy to the next. He likes to crawl rapidly across the room or take our hands and walk around the house. He's often at Mom's feet when I'm prepping meals in the kitchen. When we're standing, he thinks it's fun to go through our legs like a tunnel. His recent mode of travel has expanded to crawling on his hands and feet. :) He's getting closer and closer to walking on his own! He's taken one or two steps, can stand alone for extended time, and we've seen him stand, squat, and stand back up all by himself!
He LOVES opening cabinet doors and I think he knows the exact contents of every drawer by now! :) Most of the time he helps me put things back, but he did have a small meltdown the other day when I didn't let him play with Mom's toothbrush behind the refrigerator. :) He has a lot of fun playing under the kitchen table too, and he likes to push the chairs, his stroller, or his big toys on wheels. Just rearranging the furniture!
He still is very interested in taking toys apart to see how they fit together, but now he's also working very hard to put together lego blocks or the buckles on his seats. It's fun to watch our busy little guy sit still for a few focused moments and really concentrate with determination!
He's always up for a ride in the car and is great company on our outings. He jabbers all the way and takes in all the sites. He especially notices other cars, trucks, or little people his size. :)
Our meal times continue to be fun and messy events! He is a good eater -- his appetite seemed to grow when he turned one year old. He definitely likes to feed himself as much as possible. It may be hard to tell from the pictures below, but he's getting better at using a spoon. He smiles and giggles when he gets a bite to his mouth!
Another favorite thing about Titon at this age is that he's so snuggly when he's tired or just waking up. When we lay him down to sleep, he settles in with his stuffed animals and blanket, but then peaks his head above his crib to watch us say "good-night" and close the door. He is such a sweet boy!
Often, when Titon wakes up from a nap, we'll find his blankets and animal friends on the floor beside his crib. Daddy thinks he's working on his "escape" plan... making Pooh-bear test it out first! If (or when??) Titon does try to climb out, at least he might have a softer landing!
