Sleep, Eat, and... Play!

Little Titon is learning so much these days!  The last few weeks have been marked with significant changes and growth.

He weighs over 14 lbs. now (nearly double his birth weight), and is sleeping 10 hours most every night.  He is also staying awake for longer periods during the day and is becoming more and more playful and interactive.

One of our favorite times of the day is our conversation after his first morning feeding.  He sits face to face with us, holds his head up, and charms us with his smiles and "coo's".  Our little bear cub has lots to report after that long night of hibernation!

He's discovered his fingers and is learning to grasp toys and reach for our hands.  He stretches out his arms when he wants to be picked up, and when he's excited to eat, playing, or getting his diaper changed he kicks both legs and waves both arms, all at the same time.  He's getting quite wiggly! :)

In fact, he loves "wrestling" with Dad when he changes his clothes on his "work bench" (aka Titon's changing table).  He plays "peek-a-boo" when we lift his shirt over his head, and squirms when we tickle his tummy.  For several weeks, he's been smiling at us with a big, open mouth grin when we talk to him and smile, but we heard him actually laugh today for the first time.  So fun!

After all that fun, Titon lets us know when he gets tired by rubbing his little eyes.  His current favorite way to go to sleep is when we hold him upright against our chest and walk from room to room or up and down the hallway.  And, he's completely aware if we try to sit down.  He'll begin to nudge us with his head and elbow us in the ribs until we stand up and pace again.  Almost every time, he falls asleep again immediately.  It sure is sweet to snuggle our little boy. :)
